"Between East & West: A Gulf," is the official Kuwait Pavilion at the ongoing 15th Venice International Architecture Biennale that runs through November 27. It has been commissioned by the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL).Curated by Hamed Bukhamseen from Kuwait and Ali Karimi from Bahrain, the objective of the Kuwaiti presentation is to query the hydrography of the Arabian/Persian Gulf. It goes beyond the boundaries of Kuwait and suggests a novel master-plan for the survival of the expanse. The NCCAL chose the subject of this year’s exhibition with the aim to commence a conversation amongst the nations that lie along this body of water, and are therefore, primary stakeholders. The aim is also to envision a shared provincial project to unify the region.Click on the slideshow for the sneak peek at the exhibition. Read more
