The PAD Paris Art and Design fair returns to the spectacular location of the Tuileries Gardens for its 21st edition in 2017 from March 22-26 with a lineup of 64 leading galleries from around the world. With an aim to create a dialogue between art, contemporary and historical design, and jewellery, PAD Paris will once again present an eclectic array of objects spanning the categories of sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, tribal art, and others.Showing alongside returning exhibitors at PAD Paris 2017 will be a number of first-time participants including Lorenz Baumer in Fine Jewelrey, Thomas Bayart in Modern and Contemporary Sculpture, Michèle Hayem in Contemporary Design, Galerie 56 in Modern and Contemporary paintings, Galerie Mingei in Asian Arts, Nicolas Bourriaud in Sculpture, Alexandre Biaggi in 20th Century Decorative Arts, and En Attendant les Barbares in Contemporary Design. This year’s Studio PAD is designed by the acclaimed Parisian designer Pierre Gonalons with the support of Maison Pierre Frey and the Mobilier national. The spectacular display takes inspiration from the Parisian apartment of the celebrated Soviet ballet dancer and choreographer Rudolf Nureyev, which was decorated by Emilio Carcano in the 1990s in a style that reflected Nureyev’s Russian heritage. It will create a “scene” of living that revisits the baroque spirit of the apartment.Click the slideshow to see some of the highlights of PAD Paris 2017 Read more
