Vallois in New York is hosting an exhibition “Perfect Futures” by artist Kossi Aguessy that will be on view through January 14, 2017.The exhibition presents the Togolese-Brazilian artist Kossi Aguessy for the first time in the US, showcasing his recent sculptural works, consisting of this contemporary African industrial designer’s exploration of future-focused ideas. The artist projects the exhibition as a claim, or exercise to express African perspectives and visions into future and confront the anticipation of conventional and established form of art, making it a subtle yet meaningful political gesture to a society that is reluctant to recognize the past African contributions to the modern culture.
