The IWC Schaffhausen motorsport team with David Coulthard in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” took top honors at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.The Racing Team from IWC Schaffhausen took part in the Goodwood Members’ Meeting for the second time this year. After its debut last year the racing team was looking forward to a good performance and these expectations were surpassed during the race. David Coulthard the former Formula One star who currently is a brand ambassador for IWC Schaffhausen led the team to a first-place finish. He drove the iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” which derives its nickname from its doors which are similar to the wings of a seagull. At the wheel of the “Gullwing” Coulthard won the Tony Gaze Trophy.At the Goodwood Members’ Meeting which this year is in its 77th edition, the IWC family and guests spent time enjoying a weekend full of classic motorsport action and aligned entertainment. While races were held on the 3.8-kilometer Goodwood Motor Circuit additional activities included paddock tours and a gin tasting experience. A pub night was held and it was followed by the legendary Goodwood funfair party, along with a scintillating light show and fireworks on Saturday evening.Over the weekend, IWC showcased several of its iconic watches to the public. Among the watches displayed were the Spitfire and Top Gun collections which were recently launched. Additionally IWC also showcased an original Spitfire aircraft which was positioned next to the IWC Garage. The vintage aircraft helped to highlight the “Silver Spitfire – The Longest Flight” expedition that the IWC Schaffhausen is supporting, which will see the circumnavigation of the globe in a carefully restored Spitfire aircraft.
