PAD London takes over Berkeley Square from October 1-7, with 68 galleries from 12 countries presenting an impressive selection of design, art, antiquities, tribal art, and collectible jewelry. This year’s edition features 10 new exhibitors who join the prestigious roster of returning galleries.Carpenters Workshop Gallery presents Ingrid Donat’s vision of a home with her own sculptural furniture, along with works by other artists. Achille Salvagni makes his debut at the fair with an eclectic collection inspired by the African Sahara. The highlights include a new edition of the Spider chandelier in a striking Blue de Savoie, and Maasai, a new modular shelving system in wood and bronze. Sarah Myerscough features “Fused,” a new collection of handmade glass vessels by Marcin Rusak. The gallery also presents new commissions by Marlene Huissoud, Gareth Neal, Niamh Barry, Helen Carnac, and David Gates, Eleanor Lakelin, Ernst Gamperl, Nic Webb, and Marc Ricourt. Rossana Orlandi presents a new ensemble by rising Italian designer Guglielmo Poletti from his “Equilibrium” series.In collectible crafts, Parisian ceramicist Karen Swami features her poetic minimal vases inspired by traditional Japanese stoneware, and Negropontes features the works of a young French artist and scenographer, Benjamin Poulanges. UK’s leading contemporary ceramics and glass dealer Adrian Sassoon presents Hitomi Hosono’s delicate hand-built porcelain “Wisteria Box” and a remarkable Junko Mori work from her ongoing Propagation Project series. Other highlights include a new fountain by award-winning emerging designer Arthur Hoffner presented by Sevres, and minimal and timeless vessels by Turkish-Danish ceramic artist Alev Ebuzziya Siesbye, along with ceramic lamp bases by French designer Isabelle Sicart.The fair also presents the best of 20th Century design. “Amongst covetable 20th century pieces are Josef Hoffmann’s quintessential Sitzmaschine from 1907 at Alexandre Guillemain, a unique mirror by Ettore Sottsass at Nilufar, an exquisite deck chair by Joaquim Tenreiro at Chastel-Marechal, a stunning Crocodile Cabinet by Hans Wegner at 18 Davies Street, an iconic Mathieu Mategot table at Matthieu Richard and a breath-taking daybed with an oak structure and sheep wool upholstery by Maurice Pre at Meubles et Lumieres,” states the event’s press release.Patrick Perrin, the founder of PAD fairs, said “I am delighted to present the 12th edition of PAD London, which will host an unparalleled selection of international galleries.
