Gallery Pangolin in Chalford will feature a group exhibition from August 13 through September 14. Titled “Sunny Side Up,” the exhibition will celebrate summer with a selection of colorful and optimistic sculpture and works on paper by gallery artists.The exhibition will showcase works by Anthony Abrahams, Ralph Brown, Jon Buck, Lynn Chadwick, Ann Christopher, Michael Cooper, Terence Coventry, George Fullard, John Hoskin, Jonathan Kingdon, Anita Mandl, Charlotte Mayer, Peter Randall-Page, and William Tucker.“Highlights include Jon Buck’s ‘cheeky,’ ‘Pink Lady,’ a taste of the tropics with ‘Broad-billed Parrot’ by Nick Bibby and the fun of the circus in Phil Lineker’s ‘Life’s a Juggle,’” the gallery says.The gallery will also unveil a new series of bold abstract drawings by Lorraine Robbins as yet untitled in which she explores what the self means in contemporary Western society. Using herself as the subject, Robbins’ finely detailed drawing style emphasises surface and technique rather than expressive mark-making. This acts in stark contrast to the subject matter which is often intentionally emotive or challenging, as well as a pair of newly-issued color prints from the Terence Coventry Estate, exclusive to Gallery Pangolin.“Not the TV show, movie or song, or even how you might like your eggs in the morning, ‘Sunny Side Up” is Gallery Pangolin’s offering of works we think epitomize summer!” says Gallery Manager Sally James.As one of the few galleries to specialize in sculpture and related drawings and prints, the gallery has an established reputation for works of quality and excellence by both Modern and Contemporary artists.
