The US Postal site on Portland’s West Coast will soon be demolished, and its place will be taken by what is being hailed as the tallest building of the region designed by William Kaven Architecture and Kaven + Co.William/Kaven recently unveiled the design for the new mixed-use development which will be spread over approximately 5 million square feet, and comprise of multiple high-rise buildings for retail, hospitality, office, and residential use. The development will feature two tall central towers — one of the towers would exceed 970 vertical feet. The towers will be interlinked at some 680 feet in the air by a 236-feet glass-enclosed botanical bridge, offering dramatic aerial views of the city.Daniel Kaven, William / Kaven partner and Kaven + Co. founder, said, “What we have conceived is a dynamic, modern neighborhood centralized around an extension of the park blocks. The towers are large enough to serve as a headquarters for a Fortune 100 company, such as Amazon, and would anchor the entire district both architecturally and financially.”The development is being designed as an eco-district with high performance and energy efficient buildings. For more information, visit: www.williamkaven.com/ Read more
