After the enormous success of London Design Festival, art and design enthusiasts get ready for yet another spectacular event, PAD London 2017. The fair returns to Berkeley Square for its 11th edition with an exciting roster of 68 galleries presenting extraordinary pieces across genres and periods, from contemporary, modern and historical design to modern and tribal art, jewelry, and antiquities.PAD London 2017 will unveil an inspiring range of newly commissioned pieces by some of the most coveted designers of our time. South Korean designer Wonmin Park experiments with aluminum in his Plain Cuts furniture series to give this opaque material an illusion of transparency. Canadian sculptor and cabinetmaker Gildas Berthelot produces a sculptural wood console, where he pushes the boundaries of the medium to great effect. New Anemone floor lamps by German designer Pia Maria Raeder’s new Anemone floor lamps, as well as Israeli artist Ayala Serfaty’s unique furniture pieces in handmade Nuno felt are also premiered at the event.The event serves as a great platform for emerging designers. French exhibitor Mouvements Modernes introduces minimal geometric pieces by ceramicist Matthew Chambers. Milan’s design powerhouse Nilufar features Bethan Laura Wood’s whimsical Trellis wall lamp with colorful glass flowers and graphic composition, and Melon table with its marble top featuring intricate onyx inlays. London-based duo Brooksbank & Collins showcase their new Fonteyn chair, an exceptional piece inspired by ballet dancers Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev and represented by the fusion of verde guatemala marble and burr oak veneer.
