Come October and a month long celebration of architecture and design begins in New York with the seventh annual Archtober, which opens on October 01, 2017.The five boroughs of New York City will be buzzing with exhibitions, award galas, design workshops, lectures, and architecture-themed competitions and parties. This year the popular Building of the Day series of walking tours will highlight 56 Leonard Street, the Woolworth Residences, the Noguchi Museum, and Saint John the Divine. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum will hold an After Hours Architecture Tour to explore the iconic structure designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Classic Harbor Line, in partnership with AIA New York, will organize daily architecture boat tours to see the city from the water’s edge. The Center for Architecture will be hosting a series of events with a twist, including the popular Pumpkitecture competition. Teams of architects will be carving pumpkins into architectural works to win the Pritzkerpumpkin.
