Somerset House, London presents “Design Frontiers,” a group exhibition that brings together 30 multi-disciplinary designers as part of the London Design Festival. Designer Benjamin Hubert of Layer studio will debut “Nolii,” a new lifestyle-focused technology brand at the exhibition.Benjamin Hubert co-founded “Nolii” with tech entrepreneur Asad Hamir. Hubert’s flair for forward-thinking design is well-represented in the collection, which comprises of five products inspired by connectivity. The designer has kept things simple with technology essentials aimed at making life easier on the go. The collection includes a charging cable and stand, as well as an iPhone case equipped with a back slot for accessories such as a card case, compact plugs, and a remote charger.Hubert’s goal was aimed at making our tech lives easier and more streamlined, with accessible products that make staying connected an effortless act. In short, the designer has made essential objects more practical with a minimalist aesthetic and adds, “We believe technology should improve your lifestyle, not complicate it. I don’t just design a product for a company, I design a company for a company.”Hubert was involved in every aspect of the brand’s development, from the product design and packaging to the establishment of a charitable program focused on connectivity in East Africa. The collection, making its debut at “Design Frontiers,” will be available from November.
