The exhibition titled “OOPS” featuring the works of Paris-based design atelier, Pierre Yovanovitch will soon be on view at R & Company, New York.The selection of works on display feature 24 custom designs by the Yovanovitch. The show is part of the gallery’s annual guest curator exhibition where an interior designer or architect is invited to transform the gallery space. “OOPS” is the designer’s first US exhibition and showcases his skills in both furniture-making and scenography. The exhibition is an effortless blending of Yovanovitch’s pieces alongside works from the gallery’s permanent collection featuring works by the Haas Brothers and Senegalese designer, Babacar Niang. The furniture designs on display reflect the designer’s signature haute couture style coupled with attention to detail and his standards for design aesthetic and production. For this exhibition, Yovanovitch has worked with well-known artisans such as Armelle Benoit (ceramist), Hugo Delavelle (cabinetmaker), Les ateliers Jouffre (Art Upholsterer), and Matteo Gonet — Glassworks (glassmaker) among others. “OOPS” has been curator by the designer.Pierre Yovanovitch (b.1965) is a French interior designer. He has worked with Pierre Cardin’s men’s fashion line till 2000. In 2001, he founded his own agency Pierre Yovanovitch Architecture d’Intérieur. The designer has produced residential, institutional and commercial projects in France, Belgium, Switzerland and United States among other countries. Yovanovitch has participated in the AD France show house (2010-2014) AD Intérieurs.
