Art Institute of Chicago presents a current exhibition on ‘Drawing Rooms’ through June 2017.The gallery contains 68 rooms that depict the historical development of the interior design in Europe and United States from the late 13th century until the 1930s. All of the rooms were researched and designed by Mrs. James Thorne and built under her supervision. Mrs. Thorne created her first set of rooms primarily to highlight her collection of miniature furniture and decorative art objects.
