The Design Museum in London presents an exhibition that explores an idealized Moscow as imagined during the Russian Revolution. The exhibition is titled “Imagine Moscow” and is on view through June 4, 2017.Drawing on rarely seen material, "Imagine Moscow" presents an idealistic vision of the Soviet capital. The exhibition presents large-scale architectural drawings which are supported by artwork, propaganda, and publications from the period. Taken together, these unbuilt projects suggest an alternative reality for the city, offering a unique insight into the culture of the time. The exhibition explores Moscow as it was imagined by a bold new generation of architects and designers in the 1920s and early 1930s. Each of the six projects, collectivisation, urban planning, aviation, communication, industrialisation, communal living, and recreation, presented in the exhibition introduce a theme relevant to life and ideology in the Soviet Union. The exhibition is on view at the Design Museum, 224-238 Kensington High Street, London, W8 6AG.
