But this company uses white actors to portray all the people of color in their high-tech virtual reality simulations. Makes sense, right? Mursion, a corporate education company, uses animated avatars to play various roles in their virtual scenarios. Those avatars, no matter their race or gender, are voiced by white actors who are dubbed “simulation specialists.” According to BuzzFeed News, Black avatars call out discrimination, and demand their white allies support them in Black Lives Matter, even “supporting a traumatized employee through incidents of racial injustice.” Read more
