The smoothly-polished stone exquisitely carved in the round as a recumbent buffalo with its head turned to the left gazing at a boy playfully clambering on its back. Measured at 13.7cm (5 1/2in) long. Featured at lot 41. Estimate: 230,000 USD - 310,000 USD.— «A very rare pale green jade 'dragon' vase and cover, hu,» Ming Dynasty. Of flattened form, masterfully and vividly carved in multiple levels of relief with a ferocious three-clawed scaly dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl and a bat in flight amidst undulating ruyi-shaped clouds above turbulent crested waves. Measured at 25.2cm (10in) high. (3). Featured at lot 18. Estimate: 110,000 USD - 150,000 USD.— «An exceptional very pale green jade 'double happiness' vase,» Qianlong. Exquisitely carved on each side of the flattened baluster vase with a double xi (happiness) character encircled by three stylised peony blooms borne on meandering foliate scrolls interlinked by a ring and a ruyi-head within a recessed frame. Measured at 20.6cm (8in) high. Featured at lot 58. Estimate: 100,000 USD - 130,000 USD.— «A very fine and rare pale green jade 'lotus pod' scroll-weight, zhenzhi,» Qianlong. Naturalistically modelled as a large lotus pod with eleven circular seeds delicately carved in relief, borne on bundled curling stems issuing a lotus flower and furled lotus leaves to the base and side of the pod. Measured at 12.1cm (4 3/4in) wide (2). Featured at lot 22. Estimate: 76,000 USD - 100,000 USD.— «A fine pale green jade double-sided table screen,» 18th century. Crisply carved on both sides in varying levels of relief with a mountainous landscape featuring lingzhi, gnarled pine and wutong trees amidst multi-layered jagged rockwork and waterfall. Measured at 17.2cm (6 3/4in) high x 11.1cm (4 1/2in) wide. (2). Featured at lot 55. Estimate: 64,000 USD - 100,000 USD.— «An exceptional white jade carving of a seated mythical beast,» Song/Ming Dynasty. Exquisitely carved in the round as a seated mythical beast, probably xiezhi, resting on its rear haunches on an elaborately pierced rockwork. Measured at 6.1cm (2 1/2in) high. Featured at lot 12. Estimate: 64,000 USD - 100,000 USD.— «A fine pair of spinach-green jade reticulated incense holders,» Qianlong. Each masterfully and densely carved in openwork with a continuous scene of melons and butterflies borne on meandering foliate tendrils. Measured at each 25.5cm (10in) high (5). Featured at lot 63.
