Hublot in its Big Bang Sang Bleu II timepiece pays tribute to the art of tattooing and it is based off designs created by world famous tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi.In its latest timepiece the Big Bang Sang Bleu II, Hublot channels the creativity of tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi to fashion three-dimensional angles and edges. The graphic style that Plescia-Buchi uses in tattoos inspires the hexagonal bezel and is also molded onto the interchangeable bracelet. The case of the timepiece features finely-chiseled lines, conveyed in three dimensions while the geometrical hands with two elongated diamonds and an arrow are stylized fragments of tattoos. The timepiece importantly showcases how tattoos are an important part of Pop Culture and are increasingly viewed as contemporary art. Tattoos are also increasingly breaking out of the largely masculine underground scene as they influence the current generation and become a cultural phenomenon.Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot stated in a press release that “Thanks to Maxime Buchi and Sang Bleu, the art of tattooing has evolved to reach new heights ". Maxime Plescia-Buchi meanwhile stated that “Geometry carries value, ideas and messages through time and space, and thus unifies human kind.”The dial of the Big Bang Sang Bleu II is a play on transparency, and provides an intimate glimpse of the timepiece’s Unico movement. The 45-mm case with its geometric and architectural styling contains the HUB1240 Unico manufacture self-winding chronograph movement. In the timepiece chronograph seconds are tracked along a straight hand, and it has a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, for a period of 72 hours.Hublot will be creating the Big Bang Sang Bleu II as part of a limited edition run of two hundred titanium pieces and one hundred King Gold pieces.Click on the slideshow to check the timepieces.http://www.blouinartinfo.comFounder: Louise Blouin Read more
