Tudor Reveals the New Black Bay P01 among Its Offerings at Baselworld
Tudor brought several watches to Baselworld this year and among them was the new Black Bay P01 which is based off a watch that was designed in the 1950s.Leading the charge among the watches on offer from Tudor this year, at Baselworld was the Black Bay P01. When announcing it, the company kept the focus firmly on how it was based off a prototype that was proposed to the US Navy with the code name «Commando». In the Black Bay P01 the contemporary sporty spirit of the watch is highlighted and according to the company’s press release it is described as a “cross between a divers' watch and a navigator’s watch.”The Black Bay P01 model comes with a stop system for the bidirectional rotating bezel and it is waterproof up to a depth of 200 meters. Onboard it is the Manufacture Calibre MT5612 and the watch displays hours, minutes, seconds and date functions while the matt-black dial has painted luminescent hour markers.Additionally, Tudor has increased offerings under the Black Bay 32, 36 and 41 models, and the new versions come with yellow gold and steel bracelets with five-links. With the new models, Tudor is ensuring that the sporty and elegant aesthetic of the Black Bay lineup is maintained while adding a precious sheen to them. A similar aesthetic is adopted in the Black Bay Chrono S&G model which comes with a slim 41-millimeter steel case combined with a yellow-gold bezel and pushers.Tudor has also paid attention to its Black Bay Bronze model which won the «Petite Aiguille» prize at the 2016 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve and is now offering it in a slate-grey version.
