Measured at c. 235(297)x195cm. Featured at lot 98. Estimate: 20,000 USD -USD 23,000 USD.— «Tekke Khali», West Turkestan, 17th century - This early central carpet with brownish red ground and five horizontal rows of ten Tekke guls each, delicate “kurbaghe” secondary guls and starred octagons, is one of the best examples of this group in terms of design and colour technique. Measured at c. 226x200cm. Featured at lot 86. Estimate: 17,000 USD - 23,000 USD.— «Kizil Ayak Khali», West Turkestan, end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century - Violet-red central carpet with “tauk noska” guls, magnificent “chemche” decorations and additional tertiary motifs, with bright colours, the pink areas in the borders in particular are extremely rare and were used only in very early pieces. Estimate: 14,000 USD - 17,000 USD.— «Yomut Ak Yap Fragment», West Turkestan, early 19th century - This luxurious tent strap in mixed technique has been trimmed in the upper section and is manufactured with a brocaded kilim trim and an indecipherable inscription, it is preserved with very good colours and several areas with minor moth damage. Estimate: 11,000 USD - 14,000 USD.— «Yomut C-Gul Khali», West Turkestan, second half of the 19th century - Central carpet with 3x12 octagonal, quadripartite tauk noska (‘chicken design’) guls with classical, double-headed animal abstractions and c-gul decorations in the centre on dark brown field colour. Estimate: 11,000 USD - 14,000 USD.— «Arabatchi Chuval», West Turkestan, first half of the 19th century - Wefts: wool and cotton; among the most beautiful and also rarest chuvals are Arabatchi pieces, with three complete, Tekke-like, high “lobed guls” and archaic Arabatchi secondary motifs.
