Chanel concluded the Autumn-Winter 2019-2020 edition of Paris Fashion Week held at the Grand Palais in Paris. The set for the show was designed on the lines of a mountain village. The show paid homage to Karl Lagerfeld through his last imagined designs. Lagerfeld left the world on February 19, 2019.Penelope Cruz walked the ramp for the first time for the French house. Chanel showcased the collection autumn-winter 2019-2020 that featured the latest creations by Karl Lagerfeld. The show focused on exhibiting the alpine world and revealing a couture ski wardrobe. The Chanel muse for the evening, Cruz, closed the show as a snow queen. Donned in white, she wore a ruffled top paired with an air skirt accessorized with a wide belt. The Spanish actress wooed the audience with her strut through the snow-covered decor holding a camellia in hand. The set appeared to be straight out of poetry. Cruz along with others paid her last respect to the creator, who had made the pieces all about his natural elegance, unlike the 2018-2019 cruise collection La Pausa.Karl Lagerfeld took over the reins of Chanel in 1983, and revived its essence and continued to serve the house with his innovative approach. He was like an ambassador of elegance to the French House, which he took up the success ladder and they achieved many milestones together. The incredible ambience of mountain village was the perfect background to showcase the sports gears which were well-placed under the sign of winter sports. Before the fashion parade, there was a moving tribute, where guests were made to listen to a recording of Karl Lagerfeld. His voice and iconic statements evoked emotions. The statements were from when he had made his debut at Chanel. The recording played, “I accepted because I was told… Do not do it, it will not work, but it was the first time a brand became a fashion thing again…even the Queen of England said. It's like walking in a painting…and that I will never forget.”There was a customary one minute silence before the crystalline sounds announced the opening of the parade event. The whole episode was no less than a dream sequence out of a fairy tale. The top models trod the catwalk, for the house, in immaculate snow.Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the show https://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
