Two Hype, NBALAB and Fanatics have together announced the official launch of Two Hype Action Ware. Two Hype Action Ware, the iconic sportswear brand, was re-launched during this past NBA All-Star Weekend. The line, which was anchored by the limited edition Two Hype NBA All-Star Collection, sold out three times over the course of the three-day weekend at the Hornets Fan Shop at the Spectrum Center, as per an official release.“Two Hype was first launched in 1989 by two African-American college students — Chris Christmas and Jeff Penix — as one of the first minority-owned brands to obtain pro league licenses, with the goal of harnessing the power and attraction of sports and fashion culture within their community, while empowering young consumers and athletes in their own business endeavors. Two Hype harnessed the energy and culture of the inner city, while simultaneously reflecting relevant political and social concerns,” says the release.According to Two Hype Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Christmas, as per the release, «We are very excited to introduce a new generation of sports and fashion enthusiasts to the Two Hype brand and we believe the timing could not be more ideal. As an African-American owned company, Two Hype has always been rooted in celebrating self-actualization and promoting cultural pride, and those values are as relevant today – 30 years after the original launch of the brand – as they were then.»It did not take Two Hype too long, after its inception, to become the go-to sportswear brand for notables of the day in the worlds of hip-hop, sports and entertainment. Several of the brand's original supporters including basketball legends Shaquille O'Neal, Rasheed Wallace, and Dikembe Mutombo, and TV personality Judge Greg Mathis, were on hand during NBA All-Star Weekend to celebrate the brand's re-launch and show their support, according to the release.According to the release, Two Hype Co-founder and President, Jeff Penix, feels «In conjunction with the launch and as part of our value-based approach to the business, we are introducing the Hype 2 Hope initiative. The initiative is in partnership with Project WE Foundation.
