In addition, it would be a development engine, designed to develop that of the F50 GT. As for all F50s, it is hit F130B. It should be noted that, in addition to 349 copies of F50, Ferrari has produced three F50 GTs, along with four or five additional engines. This one, discovered in Italy by a fan of supercars which owns in particular a Ferrari 430 GT2, would thus be part of it. After visual inspection, it seems complete and its weight of 120 kg tends to indicate that it is equipped with its crankshaft and its mobile equipment, which will be verified before sale by a specialized mechanic. It is equipped with accessories such as water pump, oil pump and filter, alternator, supports,” states the auction house press release. This 1995 Ferrari F50 Engine V12 Tipo F310B is one of the last V12 series from the Formula 1 and it has V12 atmospheric, the very DNA of Ferrari. While recalling the intricate features of this engine to be offered at Artcurial, the auction house states, “following the F40, the F50 adopted a very different mechanics and, abandoning the solution of the turbocharger, it returned to the fundamentals of the brand with an engine V12 atmospheric. It was nothing ordinary since it came from the one that fitted the 641 car of the 1990 season. With a displacement of 4.7 liters, it had a particularly sophisticated distribution, with five valves per cylinder and variable opening. Its advanced technology allowed it to display a specific power of more than 100 hp / liter, a figure quite remarkable for a road car. It totaled 520 hp at 8,500 rpm and the power of the F50 GT, never disclosed, was estimated between 600 and 750 hp at 11,000 rpm.” The F50 engine produced an important lineage with the highly sought after Ferrari Enzo and this engine has set a milestone in the recent history of the brand. https://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
