The Ammann//gallery exhibition at the PAD London 2018 features a selection of works by designer Ron Arad, photographer Helene Binet, and late architect Dame Zaha Hadid. Other highlights include Studio Nucleo’s ‘Onyx’ from their Stone Fossil series, Rolf Sachs’ “Camera in Motion” project, and works by artists Abel Zavala, Ad Hoc, Christophe Come, Satyendra Pakhale, and Richard Woods.Tel Aviv-born Ron Arad, is well known for his designs often using metals such as steel and aluminum. “His vision and talent are combined in the matriculate design of the ‘Box in Four Movements’ from 1994. The piece is initially shaped like a box but with the help of four rotating pieces the work can be manipulated into the shape of a chair,” writes the gallery.Recipient of the prestigious Julius Shulman Award of 2015, Helene Binet transforms architectural masterpieces into breathtaking photographic compositions made of light and shadow. “Binet’s work explores the interaction between landscape and architecture and emphasizes that a building’s atmospheric qualities are created through the interaction between structure and natural light,” The Gallery informs on its website. The first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004, Dame Zaha Hadid, is being represented through Helene Binet’s photography highlighting her architectural masterpieces. The exquisite silver Vases “Loa Vase” and “Vesu Vase” from 2014, are also part of the exhibition. Turin-based Studio Nucleo presents works from their collections: “Metal Fossil,” “Souvenir of the Last Century,” “Stone Fossil,” and “WELL.” Debuting at the fair is their new “Onyx” Stone Fossil, which the gallery describes as an elegant ensemble of beige-vanilla with petrified wood. Swiss conceptual artist Rolf Sachs challenges and analyzes the exposure of people towards everyday objects. “His photographic work ‘Camera in Motion’ is a recording of the experience of traveling on the Albula-Bernina Express through the Swiss Alps between Chur (Switzerland) and Tirano (Italy). This journey was deeply engraved in the artist’s life,” states the gallery. The exhibition highlights craftsmanship through works of French designer Christophe Come, who creates elegant table and cabinets with glass and iron; Richard Woods, who is known for his unique patterns; Mexican design studio Ad Hoc, who brings their hand-cut leather ‘Huixcolotla’ sideboard; and Mexican artist Abel Zavala, who creates beautiful ceramic bowls and wall sculptures with hands.PAD London runs from October 1 to October 7, 2018.For more information, visit: http://ammann-gallery.com/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the collection. http://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
