Poliform will launch their new collection of products at London Design Festival 2018 that were exclusively displayed in Salone del Mobile 2018. French Architect JM Massaud will take the centre stage with a host of new products. For 2018, Massud has drawn on the influence of an industrial area outside New York. “Bellport,” is a collection of sofas devised to recreate the bright and sprightly atmosphere that inspired its name. Famous for its well-being and superior quality of life, “Bellport” is not only a place where former factories and warehouses are being renovated, but most of all where new ideas are springing up.“The collection consists of several components such as sofas, day beds, poufs, and armchairs devised to blend in seamlessly with the remainder of Poliform's living room collection. Extremely versatile, just like a close-fitting or loose garment, ideal for the city and for a holiday, warm or light-weight, suitable for every situation, whether in summer or in winter, in the Hamptons or in Chelsea,” writes the design house.Graduated from the ENSCI in 1990, Jean-Marie Massaud has run a quest for synthesis, reduction, and lightness since his first intuitions. He has been working in all kind of design fields, from furniture to industrial product and equipment. In 2000, he found Studio Massaud and expanded his expertise to architecture and brand development. It has been nearly 10 years since Massaud collaborated with Poliform. He has designed over 40 pieces in the collection. His “Mondrian sofa” with complementing accessories of the Cosmos tables was the highlight of 2017. This collection was inspired by the Dutch painter of the same name encapsulating the clean lines and asymmetrical balance of his paintings.Massaud has collaborated with various brands such as B&B Italia, Axor Hansgrohe, Dior, Poltrona Frau, Lancome, or Renault.“Denying trend and fashion, Jean Marie prefers questioning the existing, working out on progress and eventually proposing answers to contemporary stakes. It is this symbiosis between Man, his creations and his natural environment, that Jean Marie Massaud strives to reach, as a catalyst to innovation, as an economic model and as a life project,” adds Poliform.http://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
