The New Craftsmen will unveil new lighting and furniture by the designer Malgorzata Bany at the 2018 London Design Festival.“Highlights from the show include a new exclusive capsule collection of table lights encompassing two organic shapes available in contrasting colors, paired with delicate shades constructed from bespoke paper, and stems in a variety of metal finishes,” states The London Design Festival press release.A graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art, Malgorzata’s training in sculpture has driven her distinctive curved forms as her interest in producing functional objects has grown. Malgorzata's best-selling furniture range, “Pilotis” will also be featured in the show, including her signature cylindrical side table. Launched in 2015, the side table is available with three or four legs and a smooth or textured surface. New to the collection is a coffee table, a low circular form with four stout legs. The New Craftsmen will also present new additions to the flint and chalk accessories range that has repeatedly sold out since launch in 2015.The New Craftsmen has collaborated with Malgorzata Bany for three years with the last twelve months seeing a huge surge in interest in her work. In 2016, The New Craftsmen presented ‘bathing’ with Malgorzata as one of the four Crafthouse installations at Decorex. Since then, The London Design Festival has been working to support and help scale her business to help her meet rapidly increasing demand, including a noticeable popularity with US consumers.Malgorzata’s minimal aesthetic and refined sensibility will set the tone for the presentation of the work during London Design Festival which opens on September 15, 2018.“Malgorzata will take the role of curator with an immersive concept for her show that will include a selection of other maker’s work from The New Craftsmen,” The London Design Festival adds.Natalie Melton, Co-Founder of The New Craftsmen remarked: “Malgorzata’s work is a sublime balance of sensuality and restraint; a whisper of a curve, the lightest blush of colour, a trace of texture. She applies the same consideration to simple domestic objects as she does to monumental sculptural furniture and, in doing so, creates moments of ritual and serenity in the everyday.”http://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
