Galerie Patrick Seguin will be presenting the works of five legendary designers from the mid-twentieth century — Jean Prouvé, Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, and Jean Royère — at Design Miami 2017.The works selected for the five-day design festival include Jean Prouvé’s “Fauteuil Léger no. 356” a.k.a Antony Chair (1955), the “TS 11 Table” (1947), and “Swing-jib Lamp,” (1950). Jean Prouvé designed the Antony Chair as a "light easy chair" for Cité Universitaire in Antony, which was initially distributed in student housing and later produced for the public sector. The “TS 11 Table” (1947), a dining room table, along with the other furniture pieces in the series won Jean Prouvé the "Meubles de France" award in 1947.Visitors at Design Miami will also get a chance to see the rare yellow “Swing-jib Lamp,” featuring a two-meter-long direct wall mount.Galerie Patrick Seguin, founded in 1989, specializes in French Design from the 1950s and has been exhibiting the works of the five artists ever since. The gallery is particularly focused on Jean Prouvé’s furniture and demountable architecture, boasting the largest collection of these houses. The exhibition will run from December 6 to December 10, 2017, at Design Miami. For more details, visit: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/galerie-patrick-seguin/overviewClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
