Swedish design studio Stoft Studio’s ethereal lighting collection “Minor Flaws” highlights works that are beautifully flawed and unique in their overall appearance. The collections of individual objects are made of mouth-blown glass and brass. The works depict the flaws that we all so carefully hide in order to appear in a form that often uncomfortable but outwardly beautiful. They draw parallels with the technique of glass blowing that seeks to obtain full control of the material. The glass is shaped to hide its various characteristics. “Minor Flaws” as the name suggests illuminates these flaws in glass and looks at the technique of entirely handmade blown-glass production that an industrial production process will be unable to duplicate. This just goes on to show that imperfection amounts to true perfection in the eyes of the beholder. Stoft produces these lamps in collaboration with Micke Johansson and Lars Axelsson at Bergdala Glassworks, Sweden.Stoft Studio is a Swedish design studio located in Malmö, Sweden.
