Cristina Grajales Gallery, New York is presenting a solo exhibition of designer Christophe Côme’s works, celebrating its 10 years of collaboration with the designer.Paris-based Côme manipulates industrial materials to create timeless sculptural furniture and lighting design. This exhibition features a series of distinct furniture and lighting designs charting the evolution of Côme’s designs over the years. The idiosyncrasies in Côme’s designs reflect his perspective of the world around him. Be it spider webs that are illuminated in the morning sunlight, or the New York City skyline, Côme has a knack of transforming his inspirations into delightful works of art.Côme learned the casting bronze technique from French sculptor Louis Derbe. He initially started out by creating sculptures and jewelry, but later moved to furniture design towards the mid 90s. A visit to glass studio in 1995 inspired him to use glass in his works, which revolutionized his practice. Côme’s works are part of the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass. His creations have also featured in important residential interiors and Chanel boutiques all over the world. The exhibition is on view through December 22, 2017 at Cristina Grajales Gallery 152 West 25th Street, 3rd floor, New York, NY 10001.For details, visit: http://www.cristinagrajalesinc.com/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
