AZ Heritage Center in association with Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is presenting “Footprints on the Desert: Frank Lloyd Wright in Arizona.” The exhibition celebrates Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural journey in the state of Arizona through architecture drawings, photographs, design artifacts, and furniture from Taliesin West and other buildings designed by America’s most notable architect.Born in 1867, Wright designed more than 1,000 works during his lifetime, which shaped the country’s architectural identity. The architect used dramatic forms and materials in his designs in order to fulfill his vision of connecting citizens to each other and the environment. Wright’s designs were a celebration of the uniqueness of America’s landscape and its people.Wright established the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in 1940. The foundation works towards preserving Taliesin in Wisconsin and Taliesin West in Arizona, the two homes where Wright spent almost 60 years of his life. The foundation organizes various events, exhibitions, talks, and activities to foster an understanding and experience of Frank Lloyd Wright’s ideas, architecture and design. The exhibition is on view through March 31, 2018 at The AZ Heritage Center, 1300 N.
