The new complex proves to be an all-in-one destination in a sustainable environment, forming the eighth Raffles City development in the country.Situated in Qianjiang New Town near Qiantang River, Raffles City has become a major landmark with its rich mix of functions, occupying almost 400,000 square meters within two streamlined towers set atop a podium and landscaped plaza.The 60 storey, 250 meter tall high-rises contain residential units, Grade A offices, the Conrad Hotel, and a rooftop helipad. In addition, the six-story podium accommodates retail, restaurants, parking facilities, and has a direct underground connection to the metro.Ben van Berkel of UNStudio said, “Raffles City Hangzhou will be a point of confluence, a hub for business conduct, and a new destination for visitors and residents alike.” Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, is located just 50 minutes by high-speed train from Shanghai. The city is steeped in tradition with a view to the future and is fast becoming an economic powerhouse. With strong future ambitions, especially concerning sustainability, economy, and livability, Hangzhou is a city on the move, the World Architecture News noted. Read more
