The installation titled “The Mars Pavilion” is on view at A+D Architecture and Design Museum, Los Angeles. The show raises the question of what if robots were used to build buildings alongside humans. ‘The Mars Pavilion’ combines the use of Artificial Intelligence and the texture of fabric to create organic models. Industrial robotic arms are used to manipulate fabric sleeves thereby creating an adjustable framework. No two forms are the same and this is achieved through organic geometry, concrete mold, and steel fibers. The structure highlights the use of robots in manufacturing processes and automated workflow. The A+D Architecture and Design Museum was established in 2001. It celebrates and promotes the awareness of progressive architecture and design in every day life. This it does through exhibits, educational programs, and public outreach. The museum was created as a response to a need of a space dedicated solely for exhibiting progressive architecture and design in Los Angeles. The A+D Architecture and Design Museum is located in the Bradbury Building, downtown, Los Angeles. In June 2015, the museum shifted its base to the Downtown Arts District.“The Mars Pavilion” runs through September 30, 2017, at A+D Architecture and Design Museum, 900 E 4th St, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA.For details, visit: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide-venues/907961/museum-overviewClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
