“Out There | Landscape Architecture on Global Terrain” will run through August 20, 2017, at Architekturmuseum der TU München, Munich. The exhibition focuses on landscape architecture and a discipline that has a far greater reach in terms of its possible impact on land area and future time span. The show centers on 10 illustrative cases from across the world that looks at the interdependence of the city and its environment, water resources, and conditions that are both local and global. Examining a range of locations from Casablanca via Madrid and Changde to Kigali and Medellín the aim of the five academic teams whose brainchild is the show was to analyze highly complex spatial situations using the projects featured in the exhibition. “Out There” aims to give the public a deeper understanding of the changing concepts and strategies of landscape architecture in the present, and at the same time, to represent its growing importance for the future.Landscape architecture is the design of outdoor public areas, landmarks, and structures to achieve environmental, social-behavioral, or aesthetic outcomes. It involves the systematic investigation of existing social, ecological, and soil conditions and processes in the landscape, and the design of interventions that will produce the desired outcome. The exhibition started on April 27, 2017.The exhibition is on view at Architekturmuseum der TU München, Pinakothek der Moderne, Barer Str. 40, 80333 München, Germany. For details, visit: http://www.architekturmuseum.de/en/home/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
