Fondazione Prada in collaboration with Dia Center for Arts, New York and Dan Flavin Estate has installed and is displaying Dan Flavin’s “Untitled” at the church of Santa Maria Annunciata in Chiesa Rossa. This is a permanent exhibition.Dan Flavin is known for his work with light in the form of fluorescent tubes, often placed in relation to a specific architectural context, highlighting the structure, its contradictions and metamorphosis. The site-specific work “Untitled,” in green light, blue, pink, gold and ultraviolet permeates the entire volume of the church and accompanies the visitor: covering the space from the entrance, the chromatic succession of treatment of the nave, the transept and apse suggests the natural progression of light at night - dawn - day.The exhibition is on view at Chiesa di Santa Maria Annunciata, Chiesa Rossa, Via Neera, 20141 Milano, Italy. For details, visit: http://www.fondazioneprada.org/project/chiesa-rossa/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
