“Immersion Room,” an exhibition of spectacular wallcoverings, is on view at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, New York. The exhibition unveils a new interactive space, situated at formerly Margaret Carnegie’s bedroom, offering a unique experience of the museum’s extraordinary collection of wall-coverings. The exhibition allows the viewer to select wallpapers from the Museum’s permanent collection and see them projected on the walls from floor to ceiling, in a vibrant, impactful, immersive experience. To complement the experience, a number of wallpapers are accompanied by audio clips. Upon selection of particular designs, audio recording plays through speakers in the room, providing additional information about that particular design or designer. The exhibition is on view at Cooper Hewitt, 2 East 91st Street, New York, NY 10128, USA.For details, visit: www.cooperhewitt.orgClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
