Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that the Yankees have acquired starting pitcher James Paxton in a trade with the Seattle Mariners. The Yankees were one of several teams who were interested in Paxton, and it sounds like they beat out at least one of their biggest competitors for the left-hander. Paxton, 30, has a career ERA of 3.42. He was 11-6 with a 3.76 ERA in 28 starts with Seattle this season, and he is still under team control for two more years. New York will likely look to add another starting pitcher before the winter is over, but Paxton is a great start. Read more
