The car is expected to have a starting price above 80,000 euros, (approximately $92,500).Robert Meier, who is the complete vehicle model line director for the Taycan said “We’re expecting a price somewhere between a Cayenne and a Panamera.” Once taxes are included the vehicle would cost between 74,828 and 90,655 euros for its base version in Germany. Though Lutz Meschke, the CFO of Porsche told the media that he wants to offer higher-performance versions of the Taycan which could be priced as much as 200,000 euros, like a Taycan Turbo S.Taycan’s two permanently synchronous electric motors are supplied by Magneti Marelli of Italy. The motors will produce more than 600 hp and accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. Well, that would be a first for an electric bolstered engine we guess! The Taycan also aims to be the fastest series production electric car around the Nordschleife race track of Germany, with a lap time of less than 8 minutes.Auto industry experts have been claiming that Taycan could pose a serious threat to Tesla if it really delivers what it’s promising. The Tesla Model S has been ruling the full-sized electric sedan market since quite some time now. Well, one must admit that this car completely changed the perception of people of what electric cars were really capable of. They are sleek, fast and equipped with real range.Tesla’s Model S has been called a true no-compromises vehicle. Out of all the cars out there to compete with the Model S, it’s the Taycan by Porsche everyone has set their eyes on. The Taycan was earlier known as the Mission E sedan. Since it debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the car has captured the imagination of EV aficionados. A legacy automaker, Porsche is leaving no stone unturned in making Taycan a successful vehicle. Initially released with an RWD option, all variants of The Tesla Model S are now Dual Motor AWD.In comparison, Porsche is using permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM) for the Taycan and being true to the Porsche tradition, the PSM motors are race-bred, having been used in the Porsche 919 Hybrid race car. So, maybe the Taycan will have the edge over Tesla when it comes to power. What may be the deciding factor is the price of the two. It also depends on what the buyer is looking for? Style, Speed, Sophistication or Simplicity. Founder: Louise Blouinhttps://www.blouinartinfo.com Read more
