Prince Faisal: Saudi participation at UN reflects commitment to global peace and security
NEW YORK — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said the Kingdom’s participation in the United Nations reflects its commitment to engaging with the international community and supporting international peace and security. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Faisal said Saudi Arabia’s participation in the UN General Assembly’s high-level week underscores its continued efforts to promote dialogue and mediation and address shared global challenges. He said this year’s session, held under the theme “Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights,” provides an opportunity to reaffirm the principles on which the UN and other international institutions were founded, strengthen international law and cooperation, and address global crises. Amid ongoing regional developments, Prince Faisal stressed the importance of upholding international law, including respect for state sovereignty, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and the safety and freedom of navigation in international waterways. He added that Saudi Arabia’s participation will also focus on sustainable development and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to improve efficiency across sectors, support innovation and advance development while contributing to international efforts on AI governance.
