Unwell delivery rider dies after falling into Tanah Merah condo pool
An ill delivery rider has reportedly died after falling into a Tanah Merah condominium pool, Shin Min Daily News reported on Saturday (Sept 19).Wang Zhicong (transliteration), 64, was making a delivery when he fell into the pool just after 8.30pm on Thursday.Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said that they received a call for assistance along 58 Tanah Merah Kechil Avenue at around 8.40pm.A 64-year-old man was taken unconscious to Changi General Hospital where he subsequently died.Based on preliminary investigations, police do not suspect foul play.Investigations are ongoing.Wang, who has no children, is survived by his wife, who he married a decade ago, Shin Min reported.When reporters from the Chinese publication visited his funeral, his wife was visibly distraught.She was with her colleague, who told Shin Min that Wang was a salesperson but had lost his job recently and switched to doing delivery work instead.
