Thundery showers over northern, eastern Singapore on Sept 20 afternoon
Heavy rain is expected over the northern and eastern areas of Singapore on Sunday (Sept 20) afternoon.The National Environment Agency (NEA) said in a weather update at 1.36pm that moderate to heavy thundery showers with gusty winds are expected over the two areas between 1.50pm and 3.15pmChecks on the Meteorological Service Singapore's weather radar at 2pm show rainclouds off Singapore's east-southeast.As at 2pm, no flood risk advisory has been issued by Singapore's national water agency PUB.In its fortnightly weather forecast issued on Sept 16, NEA had said localised short-duration thundery showers are expected between the late morning and afternoon over most parts of the island on most days.It added that widespread moderate to thundery showers — caused by regional convergence of winds — is expected on one or two days.Meanwhile, Singapore's 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) at 2pm ranged from 75 to 104, in the moderate to unhealthy range, with the highest reading of 104 recorded in the central region.
