Saudi Electronic University renamed Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has directed that the Saudi Electronic University be renamed Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University, following a recommendation by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.The decision honors the late Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman Al Saud in recognition of his distinguished national contributions and his service as one of the Kingdom’s prominent statesmen.Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan thanked King Salman and the Crown Prince for the directive, saying the decision reflects the leadership’s continued support for Saudi Arabia’s education system and its commitment to strengthening the role of educational institutions in human development.He said naming the university after Prince Musaed also preserves the legacy of a national figure whose career was closely associated with important stages in the Kingdom’s development and the evolution of its institutions.Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University President Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Mardi said the new name carries both national and academic significance and reflects recognition of the late prince’s contributions to the Kingdom.He said Prince Musaed’s interest in education, culture and knowledge aligns with the university’s mission to develop capabilities and expand access to learning.“Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University will continue its journey toward excellence and innovation and strengthen its national impact, inspired by the national and intellectual legacy carried by his name,” Mardi said.
