Muay thai student in critical condition after charity fight at National Stadium
A man who was injured in a muay thai fundraiser tournament is reportedly in critical condition. The muay thai student suffered a head injury during his match on Saturday (Sept 12), according to Mothership.The tournament was held at the National Stadium to raise funds in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation.A spectator told Mothership that the participant was "knocked out" and fell unconscious. He was then reportedly wheeled out for treatment.The Singapore Civil Defence Force told AsiaOne that it was alerted to the incident at 1 Stadium Drive at around 7.05pm.The man was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and has reportedly spent several days in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit.The Singapore Muaythai Association (SMA) issued a statement on Instagram on Thursday (Sept 17) confirming the incident during the Amateur Muaythai Championship (AMC) 13 — Fight for Hope tournament."Medical assistance was administered by the on-site medical team before the individual was conveyed to the hospital for further medical attention," wrote SMA.
