Singaporean tourist suffers cardiac arrest after being struck by bus in Taiwan
A Singaporean woman suffered cardiac arrest after being hit by a bus in Taiwan during a family trip on Wednesday morning (Sept 16), according to local media reports.The 67-year-old woman was reportedly crossing a road in Taichung at about 11am when she was run over by a bus making a right turn, leaving her trapped under the vehicle.The local police department told local Central News Agency that it was alerted to the accident at around 11.11am.The police and paramedics reportedly freed her using an air-lifting bag and spinal board.The woman is said to have suffered multiple fractures to her hip, right upper arm and lower left leg and went into cardiac arrest.She was taken to the China Medical University Hospital, where she was resuscitated and her heartbeat was restored, according to Central News Agency.The details of the rescue and the woman's condition were confirmed by the local fire department to The Straits Times.The woman was visiting Taiwan with her family of nine people, including her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, LTN reported.
