Red Arrows to Fly Over Charles Bridge This Friday

Prague will hear the roar of Royal Air Force jets on Friday, September 18, when the Red Arrows aerobatic team stages a flypast over the city. Ten BAE Hawk T1 aircraft from the British RAF team are scheduled to pass over the Charles Bridge at around 2:00 PM. The jets will leave smoke trails in the colours of the Czech flag during the display. The formation is expected to approach Prague from the north before reaching the area around Václav Havel Airport. The aircraft will then form an arrow-shaped formation and fly around the western and southern parts of the capital before turning north along the Vltava. The jets are expected to fly at an altitude of roughly 300 metres above the ground. The engines will be clearly audible across parts of the city, although the flypast itself will last only a short time. After passing through central Prague, the formation will turn northeast and continue toward Ostrava. The city is hosting NATO Days, one of the Czech Republic’s largest military and security events, this weekend.
