Wetter weather expected in Singapore over next 2 weeks; warm nights to persist

Singapore may get some respite from the haze and heat in the second half of September with more showers forecast, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said in its fortnightly update on Wednesday (Sept 16).The weatherman said that localised short-duration thundery showers are expected between the late morning and afternoon over most parts of the island on most days, adding that widespread moderate to thundery showers — caused by regional convergence of winds — is expected on one or two days."Overall, the total rainfall for the second fortnight of September 2026 is forecast to be near the long-term average across most parts of the island," MSS said.Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to be similar to the first half of September, ranging between 33 and 34 deg C on most days, but could reach around 35 deg C on a few days.It also forecast warm and humid conditions on some nights, with minimum temperatures remaining above 27 deg C.
