Chan Chun Sing urges nations to continuously find ways to create value together
Amid a world faced with new uncertainties and changing perceptions of both hard and soft power, countries will need to build trust through strategic patience, while continuously finding concrete ways to create value together, said Singapore's Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing on Wednesday (Sept 16).Chan's comment at the Bejing Xiangshan Forum on security come amid technology race heating up and a growing imbalance in consumption and production that has caused trade and investments to become securitised and weaponised. Cautioning that these are serious trends to be concerned with, Chan, who is also Coordinating Minister for Public Services, called for countries to not look at security as a zero-sum issue.
