5,854 people are held in Kyrgyzstan's correctional facilities
Currently, 5,854 people are being held in Kyrgyzstan’s prisons and pretrial detention centers, Nurlan Sarchaev, first deputy chairman of the State Penitentiary Service, reported at a meeting of the Zhogorku Kenesh Committee on Labor, Healthcare, Women’s Affairs, and Social Issues.
