Air quality in Singapore turns unhealthy again, 1-hour PM2.5 elevated across Singapore
Air quality in Singapore returned to the unhealthy range again at noon on Monday (Sept 14) At 12pm, the 24-hour Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) reading in central Singapore was 102. A reading of between 101 and 200 denotes the unhealthy range.Elsewhere in the Republic, 24-hour PSI reading was between 79 and 91, still within the moderate range, with the next highest reading of 91 recorded in eastern and western Singapore.Meanwhile, the one-hour PM2.5 — an indicator of fine micro-pollutants in the air — is in the elevated range across the city state.The highest one-hour PM2.5 reading of 100 was also recorded in central Singapore.Data from the National Environment Agency (NEA) shows that one-hour PM2.5 hit a high of 113 at 10am on Monday.AsiaOne had earlier reported that the reading was recorded at 107 in the central region at 9am. This is also the first instance since Sept 4 that one-hour PM2.5 readings have crossed the mid-range mark. Readings of between 56 and 150 indicate the elevated range.
