Motorcyclist sent tumbling into path of trailer after rear-ending car on PIE
The police are looking for the driver of a trailer who was involved in a three-vehicle accident on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on Wednesday (Sept 9) afternoon.The incident happened at about 3.45pm on PIE towards Changi, before the Bukit Timah exit.Dashcam footage of the incident submitted to SG Road Vigilante and posted on its Facebook page shows a motorcyclist rear-ending a black Toyota multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).The impact sends him tumbling to the ground just as the trailer passes to his left. It is unclear if the motorcyclist was hit by the trailer, although it appears that the motorcycle may have shielded him from any direct impact. The trailer driver is then seen driving on and does not stop to render assistance.In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force told AsiaOne that the 49-year-old motorcyclist was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, adding that he is assisting with ongoing investigations.Efforts are also underway to track down the trailer driver. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
