Nepal-Tibet floods: $560,000 humanitarian package from Singapore arrives in Nepal

A humanitarian assistance package from Singapore that was handed over to Nepal's honorary consul general in Singapore Helen Campos on Sept 4, arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal on Thursday (Sept 10).The package, worth about $560,000, arrived on a Soekarno-Hatta International Airport-based My Indo Airlines freighter at about 8.15am (10.30am Singapore time).Nepal's Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Mahabir Pun was present to receive the package, symbolically handed over by Assistant Commissioner of Police Patrick Tan, who commands the 35-member Singapore contingent assisting local authorities with post-disaster victim identification. Not much was said between the two men, based on the observations of AsiaOne photojournalist Rauf Khan.
