'Mother's karmic rewards': 'Sea' of wreaths at funeral of Sheng Siong bosses' mum
Without her, there may have never been Sheng Siong — a household brand in Singapore.Lim Hock Leng, one of the late Ng Lye Poh's nine children, has revealed the extent of his mum's significance in a TikTok video by user Paibupai47 on Tuesday (Sept 8).Ng, also known as the Sheng Siong Ah Ma, died on Sept 5 at the age of 91."Who else could have such a large sea of flowers (sent to them)?" Lim, who is also Sheng Siong's managing director, says as the video begins.Pointing to the right, he then shows a large collection of condolence wreaths sent to Ng's funeral at Cairnhill Hall in Woodlands Memorial.Standing in the middle of a group of wreaths, Lim presses his palms together in prayer, saying: "My mum's karmic rewards… are far too great."When asked by the interviewer who his mum is, Lim replies: "Ng Lye Poh — she's also Singapore's national treasure."Lim also expresses pride in what has been accomplished for his mother's sake.Indoors, wreaths line the perimeter of a large hall, in what appears to be at least two rows.
