Fire burns down 4-hectare area in Sungei Kadut
A fire broke out at a vegetated area off Gali Batu Depot in Sungei Kadut on Monday (Sept 7) night.Videos of the incident, which started at about 6.50pm, show the fire just off the perimeter of the depot.MP for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC Alex Yam took to Facebook to provide an update on the incident at about 1am on Tuesday, saying the fire had spread across about 40,000 sqm of the hillside."The fire was confined to the vegetation near Gali Batu Close...Thankfully it caused no damage to infrastructure at the depot, nor were any injuries reported," the fourth-term MP added. In response to AsiaOne's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that there were no reported injuries during the fire, which it said, involved vegetation measure about 200 metres by 200 metres.
